Dr. Yu Liu (b. 1983, Kunming, China) is a watercolor artist based in Hudson, Ohio, USA. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Urban Planning and Urban Design from Tongji University in Shanghai, China, and earned her PhD in Spatial Planning and Urban Development from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 2013.
After several years as an urban planner, designer, and researcher, Yu discovered a profound beauty in life through her artistry. For her, there is no such thing as bad weather; whether under the sun, in the rain, or amidst falling snow, each outing with her sketchbook reveals a rich tapestry of color and pattern. She perceives, she experiences, and she paints. While art may not extend the length of her life, it undoubtedly broadens its horizons.
